Bookkeeping

Bookkeeping is the most basic of all accounting functions. Bookkeeping involves maintaining accurate and updated records of all of your company’s financial activity. This includes bank records, tax filings, payroll records, purchase and sale records, and regulatory filings. These records are essential to regulatory compliance. Proper bookkeeping makes other accounting functions, such as audits, payroll, and tax preparation, much simpler and less time consuming.

#3

Payroll

Payroll is a critical business operations function performed by your accounting team. Payroll involves managing all employee compensation, benefits, and withholdings. We manage your payroll on an ongoing basis, ensuring that all employees are compensated according to their employment agreements and benefit selections.

#4

Financial Analysis

It is wise to conduct periodic review and analysis of your company’s financial performance. These reviews are typically called audits, and are an important part of regulatory compliance and shareholder disclosure. Additionally, financial analysis can provide valuable insight into your company’s financial health which can help you make sound decisions for the future.

#5

Tax Preparation

Commercial tax preparation can be extremely complex. Records and submissions must be prepared carefully in order to minimize your risk of unforeseen tax liabilities, fees, or audits. Our team will work with you to prepare complete and accurate corporate tax filings on an annual basis.

Web Diary

         31 May 2023

My attention has been focusing on a project which is non accounting, at the expense of this website, leading to the fact that I have not been updating my website diary for over a month.

The financial year 2023 is drawing to an end and, in about a month we will see the closing of the financial year, with the commencement of FY 2024, when every accountant will be busy.
I have been training someone with another accounting practice of which I am involved, to prepare ourselves for the anticipated additional workload following the close of FY 2023.
I believe I shall be spending more time on this website, and I shall record progress as I go along.

Preston Chow

Welcome

I have been a Registered Tax Agent for over 40 years.  After having acquired my accounting degree in Victoria, I became a CPA in 1987. I had been working in several accounting positions for several companies in Melbourne, cumulating in my last full-time paid employment as the Chief Accountant & Company Secretary of a medium-sized high-tech organization headquartered in Melbourne.  It was a business trading on the Second Board in the Melbourne Stock Exchange, with branch offices in all major states in Australia, as well as overseas offices in New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore.

In 1985, I resigned to start my accounting and migration practice. Then, for a brief stint in 2017, I worked part-time as a Member of the Quality Control Team in one of the offices of H&R Block. My experience in the industry as well as in my accounting practice had provided me with exposure in handling most of the accounting and taxation functions of a small to medium-sized business entity.

Since about 5 years ago, I have been assuming the role of a Trainer in providing supervised training to some academically qualified accountants wanting to become registered with the Tax Practitioners Board in Australia. So far, I have been aiding over 10 Chartered Accountants, and CPAs. In support of the training facilities, I saw the demand in establishing an Accounting Team to assist the bookkeeping, accounting, and taxation needs of some of the clients of my Trainees.

To prepare my Accounting Team to perform its responsibilities, I have been providing extensive training to Members of the Team, which is currently 5-Member strong. It gives me pleasure to say that we have now installed an efficient system into the effective training of Members of our Accounting Team, so much so that it will be a pity it we were only limiting their functions to just supporting our Trainees. I saw the potential in extending their services to other Australian businesses, in meeting their accounting needs.

For personal reasons, all Members of our Accounting Team are from Manila. Currently this is being headed by an experienced CPA, supported by a few academically qualified accountants in the Philippines. Because these Members have been assisting me quite some time and all of them are efficient in performing their duties, as they have the benefit to access actual examples from our database of over 1,000 accounting and taxation clients, currently being looked after by my practice.

Due to the wages disparity between Australia and the Philippines, I can offer our support to Australian employers at the rate of A$20 plus GST per hour, based on a monitoring system approved by the employers. Apart from wages, there are other advantages in utilizing our services and viewers can check out from the section under Advantages.

The Impact of Covid-19, one of the most devastating catastrophes in the history of mankind, has significantly changed the working habits of a lot of companies in the world.  This change, together with the results of comparative advantage have bought a new dimension to the global corporate culture in that more and more jobs are being performed from home.

The sooner an employer outsources talents from other parts of the world, he will be enjoying more competitive edge over his competitors.  I am a believer in the outsourcing option on a global scale in meeting our bookkeeping and accounting needs for Australian entities. I recommend viewers to seriously consider using our services for reasons detailed in the section under Advantages.

We look forward to discussing with you on how we can work together
on a win-win proposition.
In this regard, I would strongly suggest that we test out our cooperation by your giving us a few simple jobs to enable us to sort out the teething problem which are inevitable with the introduction of any new arrangements.  This way, you can discontinue if you are not happy with the results with no questions asked, but at least we have tried.
